Lunch out, more time?
                        By: Angelica Gomez

Is the 40 Minutes that students have, at most, good enough for school lunch out? Is it enough time for school lunch? Is it enough time to go out to eat and still have time for scanning? Or is it a sufficient amount of time, and you find yourself waiting for it to be over? Is getting more time a good thing? Are students willing to either have a earlier school day or a longer one in order for lunch to be longer?
I personally would love more time because scanning is hard sometimes.  I would love to eat something besides pizza but you have to choose it because pizza is such a quick meal. Yet the government complains teenagers don’t eat healthfully. Which ties into, is school lunch good? I interviewed some students and asked them these two questions:
                1. How would you feel if the school added 20 minutes more to lunch?
                2. If it were to happen, how would you feel having to attend school earlier or having a longer school day?
A majority of people said they would love more time because they feel rushed. Also, they would have more time because they would have time to eat and make it to the scanners. But they also said they would not like to have a longer day because they just plain won’t want to be in school longer. Having an earlier day is still in question because some would be willing to come earlier if it would mean having a longer lunch but getting out at the same time like always. But others are not morning people or have a very busy after school and changing the time that school ends would not be good.

It seems to this reporter that the students at The GLC want it both ways - and don't want to compromise in any direction.
