Both Varsity and Junior Varsity boy's soccer teams are starting off the season great. They both have a good record with only 1 loss so far for JV and 2 losses for Varsity. On September 3rd, the boys Varsity team won the "Hinsdale Central Red Devil's Tournament" against Lincolnway East. Their current record is 9-1. On Saturday September 17th, they will be playing against Libertyville. That is the game that determines whether they play the final at Toyota Park or not. “We’re playing collectively well as a team, especially defensively,” Coach Caruso said. Senior Diego Diaz plays defense on the Varsity team. “We haven’t allowed many goals, and we stay strong until the last second of the game. We make sure the other team knows they played Morton!” Diego said. JV is doing just as well as Varsity. Their head coach is Mr. Tsenes. “So far we’re 5-1. We are doing very well. We have not given up many goals so far,” Tsenses said. Junior Erik Torres is a mid-fielder and this is his first year in JV. He was on both Freshman and Sophomore teams in the past. “The season is going good I guess, we lost our first game to Lyons Township. It was a defending mistake,” Erik said. Both Morton teams are playing outstandingly well. As long as they keep up the good work, they'll achieve many accomplishments. "Soccer is life. You better enjoy it because high school soccer is only four years of that life,” varsity soccer player Roberto Avila said.
