Q101 seems to be notorious at Morton East. In a random survey of 100 students 44 students listen to Q101. Five students prefer to listen to 94.7 oldies. “I listen to oldies in the morning, afternoon, and during work. I like it because of how it sounds, and I can play along with my guitar while I listen to the radio,” senior Isable Leon said. 44 students prefer Q101. “I like Q101 because they play very good music, and they never fail on me because they always have some Coldplay on,” senior Jonathan Gomez said. Only one student listens to 99.5, America's Country Station. “I like listening to country because I can relate to it, because it talks about guns, trucks, and women. What else can I ask for?” senior Carlos Vargas said. 15 students prefer 95.5 Mega. “I love to listen to Mega because it has all the newest Spanish music. I listen to it morning, afternoon, and night, especially when I’m doing my chores or homework,” senior Veronica Catalina said. 15 students heard La Que Buena 105.1. “I like Piolin en la Manana, It has hilarious jokes and corridos. They support the Dream Act, illegal immigrants and they also confront cheaters -- what else could you ask for?” senior Juan Smayca said. 20 students prefer B96. “B96 (has) rap, hip-hop and all the newest music, what else could I want? I usually listen while driving because I get tired of the same old cd’s.” senior Marcos Luna said. Five students were surprised that anybody even listened to the radio anymore. “Radio? I'm surprised you’re asking people if they listen to the radio. With ipod's and cd’s, who needs to listen to the radio anymore?” senior Luis Rodriquez said.
