The Cardette Dance officers competed at the American Dance & Drill Team Senior South Padre Island Festival on Feb. 10.
Cassie Gonzalez, 12, Sarah Tello, 12, Samantha Cantu, 11, and Rose Cisneros, 12 were the girls that competed.
They recieved the following awards: Award of Excellence, Sweepstakes, Best Overall Precision and Biogime Sportsmanship Award.
According to Mrs. Scoggins, the Cardette instructor, the girls did well overall.
“Considering that one officer got sick and couldn’t make the competition, we had to change a lot of the formation in our three routines,” Mrs. Scoggins said.
The next dance competition coming up will be at Sea World in April.
