Healthy foods that high school students should consider. - Nate Towery

Students in high school come in all shapes and sizes, but are they healthy and treating themselves in the right way?
During the teen life, we tend to pick up a lot of habits and many are food related. That can go in either direction, bad or good, but typically bad. We ignore the warning labels and we ignore healthy foods because they don’t typically taste as good as sugar related foods. Of course it would be outstanding if all healthy foods tasted as good as non-healthy foods. That would be almost too good to be true.
There’s typically a reason behind students wanting to get in shape. It’s either to look better, get fit for a specific sport or because it may be pressured upon you. Students won’t usually go for the motivation of just getting healthy. A lot of the time students will use harmful tactics to lose or even gain weight. It is never okay to harm your body while trying to achieve a body/weight goal for yourself. The most efficient way is to simply eat healthier foods and work out more. Starving yourself can backfire on you and working out too much can end up physically harming you. Joining a physical activity can be the most entertaining way to get in shape and a lot of people do this.
Then there are those that don’t do anything for themselves. According to the state health facts only 54% of high school students are not meeting the recommended physical activity level. We should want to know that we are healthy and doing something proactive for ourselves.
Getting healthy can be achieved. We need to simply make sure we are doing it in the correct way.
