Do you remember the most popular game console before the time of the Xbox 360 or the Wii?
Does the name Nintendo 64 ring a bell?
This Japanese game system was the first introduction to 3D games on a home console.
Kids everywhere were amazed at the new found graphics.
Whether it was Super Mario, Mario Kart 64 or The Legend of Zelda kids played them for hours as their parents yelled at them to go outside and play.
The Nintendo 64 was released in America September 1996 and was discontinued in 2002.
The Nintendo was losing to its competitors The PlayStation and The Sega Saturn.
So Nintendo decided to the launch its latest invention the Game Cube.
Among the highest selling Nintendo games were the 007 Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.
Unlike today’s games the Nintendo 64 used ROM cartridges instead of a disc. Today’s games have taken huge steps forward.
On gaming systems such as the Xbox 360 you can search, watch TV, and play games online, none of which were imaginable in the 90’s.
