A Cappella at Lakeside is not just another club or organization. No, A Cappella is much more than most people think.

On the surface, A Cappella sometimes looks like just another traveling and singing group of teenagers who just need some high school credit. If a person would further investigate into why the members do what they do, that person would find a real joy and commitment to the group as a whole. Proof of this is how Junior Nathan Graumann described A Cappella as a “one of my most fun classes and I really enjoy all the extra time I get with friends”.

As most students know, A Cappella travels around southern Wisconsin practically every Sunday to sing and praise the wonders of a great and glorious God.This year, a few of the churches they will be traveling to are Trinity in Watertown, Lord of Love in DeForest, and Bethany in Fort Atkinson. At most of these churches, the host church will provide some sort of delicious meal where all the A Cappella members can eat a much-needed breakfast. Junior Michaela Willitz describes the breakfasts at the churches her “second favorite part of A Cappella. The only thing better is being able to sing at different churches around the area.”

They also have many concerts that everyone is welcome to come to, such as the Pops Concert, the Easter Concert, and to finish the year off, the Prism Concert. Many times Christian songs are sung but there a few more relaxed songs thrown in the mix also. These are the things that practically everyone knows about and hears about.

What most people do not see is all the hard effort put in behind the scenes. Whether this effort is shown through the patience and time put in by A Cappella director, Mr. James Buege, or all the people at the different churches preparing breakfast for the A Cappella members, a person could see that all these people adore their Savior and love to show it. Many times A Cappella members need to travel an hour or more just to make it to the Sunday church services on time. That is definitely a very strong sign of commitment to their love to sing and their love for their Savior!

No, A Cappella is definitely not just another club or organization. On top of all the other great reasons, all members get to hang out with their friends every Sunday, eat a delicious breakfast and worship their Lord at the same time. It is a great time and definitely worth the effort.
