Students from all over the valley came to Upper Perkiomen High School Saturday, October 23, to attend the annual Homecoming Dance.
Every year, all students from freshmen to seniors are invited to come and enjoy themselves with a night filled with friends, food, formal wear, and great music. To add to the exciting atmosphere of the dances, there are always creative decorations around the halls and gym area that make the Homecoming theme come alive.
This year’s theme was “City Life”, and student council really helped capture the theme by making the students feel like they were dancing around busy and bustling New York City. The main hallway and gym area had a busy, New York City feel and the area around the school store was decorated like Central Park.
“It really is great to see so many people working to make this night memorable,” Mrs. Lychock said. “We really work hard on trying to create a new look for the school [on] this special night.”
Many students and teachers chip in every year to help with this immense project. The Student Council, Art Club, and Action Committee all were involved this year with creating posters, selling tickets, creating decorations, and booking a DJ. They were all very busy and had a lot on their plates in order to create a fabulous night out on the city streets for the students at Upper Perk.
“I have a great respect for all of the students who come and help out,” Mrs. Lychock said, showing her appreciation to all who helped make the dance possible. “It is definitely not something I can do by myself.”
