The lacrosse team works hard at conditioning. - Antonio Lapinski

The Upper Perk Lacrosse team just recently started yet another energetic season. The team came into the season energized by optional pre-season workout designed by Coach Melissa Furey to better prepare the lacrosse players for the season.
The pre-season workout began in December of last year, and was held every Tuesday and Thursday evening.
The workouts helped round the team into shape. Members of the team have to be ready to sprint in games if they would like to win.
“We did 120 yard sprints seven times with an 18 second rest and 30 second recovery; we also practiced throwing and catching,” Alex Sole stated.
“Pre-season is really intense because we have to run a lot to get back into shape from winter,” said Jackie Krempasky.
“It [conditioning] was very cold but it was great to see the team and get ready for the season,” Krempasky explains.
Although at times conditioning may get tough, all of the girls play lacrosse with determination and pride.
Sadly, the team is lacking numbers of players. The athletes are trying their hardest to get more girls to come out and sign-up for the team.
Lacrosse has so much to offer all girls at every level. It might be hard conditioning, but it is a lot of great fun and lasting memories.
