Whatever happened to the day where love letters where the means of getting your crush’s attention and boys threw pebbles at their girls’ windows in hope of getting a quick kiss?
Today everything has become technical with cell phones and the introduction of text messages. Most teenagers these days are attached to their cell phones like Velcro.
This is where two people start talking, then flirting, and then in the end being couples.
Before being in touch meant seeing that person face to face and being able to reach out a hand and touch them, but in the modern day, being in touch means using your thumbs to text “i luv u”.
The art of conversation has now been lost and swallowed up by abbreviations, smiley faces, and digital screens to a point where so much is said through typing that once these couples meet no words can be uttered, or, even worse, they are sitting next to each other texting.
Texting and romance may seem to go hand in hand these days, but for some romantics old habits, like love letters, die hard.
Let’s just hope that true love towards one another will never be so distorted that it will never be the same again.
