With the start of a new swimming season comes new change. Head coach Michael Tannous is running swim practice a different way this year to see if it helps the team improve.
Instead of just swimming for two hours straight, Tannous has changed it so half the team swims while the other half works out, and then they switch. The team is split into boys and girls. The girls start by working out for an hour and then they swim for the last hour. The boys do the opposite.
The team this year is quite young. Many freshmen joined the team adding to the already small swim team but making it the biggest turn out for the team in years.
One thing that is different this year is that there is no longer a diving team. In past years the diving team contributed greatly to the teams wins. On many occasions, the fact that Upper Perk had a diving team while the other school did not, would be the winning factor.
Now that there is no longer a team, it should be interesting to see how the swim team does without the diving team.
