“Saw 3”, came out on October 27, 2006, and is gorier than ever. Saw 3 is the sequel of “Saw” and “Saw” 2, which were both directed by James Wan. However, “Saw 3” was directed by Darren Lynn Bousman.

In “Saw”, a man named Dr. Gordon and a man named Adam find themselves in a “prehistoric” bathroom. After hearing the killer Jigsaw over a tape recorder, the two try to figure out how they got there. Also, the killer is holding Dr. Gordon’s wife and child captive. In order to save them, he must kill Adam by six p.m. The ending is a secret and must remain a secret.

In “Saw 2”, Jigsaw kidnaps seven people and locks them up in an old apartment building. A girl named Amanda is the main character of the story and is the most likely to survive. She was in Jigsaw’s grips before and “won the game.” S.W.A.T. finds Jigsaw at an apartment building and holds him under arrest. Eric Mathews interrogates Jigsaw because his son is one of the seven people being held captive. In order to save his son, Eric must talk to Jigsaw. At the old apartment building, the seven people must find antidotes for then lethal gas they were inhaling. There is a twist in the end of the movie and just like “Saw” must be kept a secret.

“Saw 3” is about a girl named Lynn who is captured by Jigsaw. She has to keep him alive until a man finishes several tasks. If Jigsaw dies during the operation, she will be killed by a trap around her neck that is linked to Jigsaw’s heart rate. The man named Jeff must confront the people who were somewhat responsible for his son’s death. In order to complete his tasks, he must free the people from dangerous traps or leave them there to die.

“Saw 3” is impressive in terms of suspense. The movie will really keep viewers on the edges of their seats. For example, throughout the entire movie, viewers will want to know if Jeff will finish his tasks on time.

“Saw 3”, also, has solid acting. The people in the movie sound like they are about to be killed.

The movie also has a meaningful theme. It is, “be glad you’re alive.” Jigsaw wants people to be grateful to be alive. If they’re not, he’ll make them grateful by putting them in life-threatening situations.

Even good movies have flaws and in “Saw 3” that flaw was that there were basically no special effects, aside from the gore. However, an explosion or two would have been good because it would make “Saw 3” look like a high budget film and more people would see it.

Also, the settings were a bit dull. Almost the whole story took place in Jigsaw’s hideout. A change of scenery would have been good so viewers could see the world beyond Jigsaws hideout.

Only teenagers (who aren’t squeamish) and adults would like this film. There is no childish content in “Saw 3”. Thus, they would probably get bored during the movie. Also, the movie is a bit scary and children may have nightmares about Jigsaw’s evil puppet. Overall “Saw 3” has good acting, suspense, and a meaningful theme.
