The Jonathan Law soccer team will kick off another season which looks to be a promising year.

The Lawmen have a strong core of players returning this season that know the Law style of soccer.

“This year’s team works together,” said senior Bruce B. “We are a lot more aggressive this year then previous years I have played here.”

The Lawmen are returning from a 3-12 record after their first year in the SCC.

Returning seniors Vlad G., Doug C. and Jack M. hope to turn the season around and make a mark in the SCC.

Senior Captains Mateusz K., Bruce B., and Mike G. will lead the under classman displaying their talent and bringing out the talent of others.

“I like our captains,” said sophomore Dante H. “They teach us the Law tradition and eventually that’s what will bring the winning seasons.”

Tradition is an important value to Law sports. Soccer Coach Italo Mongilo enforces the tradition and expects his leaders to do the same.

This season the Lawmen will have to work together as a team to win their games because team work is the most important tradition for the soccer team explained sophomore Matt G.

“We don’t really have a go to guy this year,” said Matt G. “Passing the ball and finding the best open shot will win our games.”

Although the Lawmen have had a slow start, losing their first three games, they are learning from their mistakes and working hard. They are keeping their heads held high

“The first couple of games we made a few mistakes but we should bounce back,” said senior Matt D.

The schedule doesn’t get any easier as the year progresses; however it doesn’t get worse then what they have already faced this season.

“We’re in a tough league, but we’re finally starting to put it together,” said sophomore Mark R.
