Former American Idol judge Simon Cowell’s famous British television show, the X-Factor, came to America looking for people with any of a variety of talents.

The X-Factor, airing in England since 2004, is a big hit that Cowell is hoping will spread to the United States.

Talents appearing on the show, range anywhere from singing and dancing to magic acts and drawing. “I wouldn’t try out but I would probably watch it because it sounds like Americas Got Talent and that was good show,” says sophomore Autumn Vink.

The X-Factor is similar to the last show Cowell produced, American Idol. The only difference is the contestants will be split up into different groups based on their talents and compete with the people with the same talent as them.

“I would love to participate if they would come to Arizona. It sounds like a lot of fun, especially since Simon is going to be a judge,” says sophomore Courtney McDaniel. Cowell also wants Paula Abdul and Cheryl Cole to be judges on the show.

The X-Factor will be showing in fall 2011 and will be on ITV every Saturday starting around noon.

As long as the contestant is at least 12 years of age, they will be eligible to win the five million dollar prize and a recording contract.
