At-a-glance

Thanksgiving, the one holiday where you can eat all you want
shamelessly, only comes around once a year. It should be an
enjoyable holiday to be spent in the presence of family and
friends. Students express ways in which the holiday should not
be spent.

1. Alone. Family is important. Who really wants to be alone on any kind of
holiday?
2. Worrying about the turkey. Put it in the oven by 7am to have
it cooked by 3 or 4pm.
3. Shopping. Do all shopping in the morning or the day before.
4. Fasting. You’re going to want to enjoy all the yummy food.
5. Sleeping. Catch up on all sleep the night before.
6. Working. Try to get the day off. Talk to your boss the day before.
7. Watching TV. No couch potatoes please!
8. Depressed. Moping around might put everyone in a bad mood.
9. Driving. Try and go somewhere close so you’re not stuck in the car all
day!
10. In a different country. Some countries don’t celebrate
Thanksgiving. What kind of holiday would that be?
