Have you ever wanted to be something that you aren’t? Have you ever wanted to change your life? MTV’s MADE helps kids do just that.

At the beginning of December, MTV’s MADE came to Parkview to audition kids who wanted to be on the show.

“We came to Parkview because we like going to high schools by big cities,” Nathan Johnson, casting producer, said. “The kids are the most excited and they generally have the most problems.”

MADE first aired on MTV in 2002, and since then the show has helped hundreds of kids achieve their dream.

The teens are joined by a “Made Coach,” an expert in their chosen field, who tries to help them achieve their goals over the course of about six weeks.

Past “Made coaches” have included Snoop Dogg, Panic at the Disco, and Pete Wentz.

MADE travels all around the country interviewing high schoolers who want to be on the show.

The interviewing process consisted of basic questions.

“Nathan asked me my name, phone number, and other general information,” Jeff Shirmer, junior, said. “He also asked us what we wanted to be made into, and why we deserved it.”

According to Johnson, the producers have ctiteria that they use to choose who they want to be on the show.

“We pick kids who are enthusiastic, honest, and really looking for a change in their life,” Johnson said.

The shooting of the show take will take around six weeks and it it will premiere about six months after shooting.

“We will be shooting all around Parkview, all day long,” Johnson said. “So students should be prepared to see us in some of their classes.”
