In 2001, it began as a nice, quiet competition. A few staff members and a few students would come to compete in a badminton tournament that would take place over the course of one week in the WHS gymnasium.

However, now in 2007, the badminton tournament has grown, filled with staff and students, all ready to compete against the famous “Team DyNasty”.

“Team DyNasty”, made up of assistant principal, Mr. Pyy and marketing teacher Ms. Sylvia, has been winning the tournament since 2002. Countless teams have tried to knock them out of the competition, but none have prevailed.

So what is their secret—what has kept them champions for so long?

“I have no secret,” admits Mr. Pyy. “The only time I used to play badminton was at picnics and backyard barbeques. When Ms. Clark asked me to compete in the tournament, I thought she was kidding because badminton just wasn’t my sport.”

Little did he know, Mr. Pyy and his teammate, Ms. Sylvia, would be the reining champions for six years in a row.
