Principal David Brotherson was named Outstanding Administrator of the Year. It is a prestigious honor awarded by the Utah Music Educator's Association. He was nominated by Scott Forsyth for his immense support of the Roosevelt Junior High School Music Department.
When asked how he felt about being awarded such an honor he said, "I was very flattered. That was a great group of people. A lot of people I respected highly. It was just phenomenal to be amongst that group."
The student body was called down to the new gym on February 8 to watch him recognized for the honor. Mrs. Wheeler, the orchestra teacher at the junior high school, was also recognized for her work with students.
Mr. Brotherson will be leaving Union next year to serve in his new position as superintendent for the school district.          It was announced recently that taking his place as administrator of Union High will be Mr. Russ Nielsen.
Mr. Nielsen has served as a vice-principal for the past few years.
