Trinity joined with St. Xavier and Sacred Heart on Nov. 18 to conduct the annual Shootin’ for the Stars basketball clinic.

The members of the basketball teams and volunteers worked with special needs adults in various drills and routines. The clinic, founded by Mr. John Kahl, is held to have some fun and meet new people.

“I think it is very fun. I get to talk with a lot of the basketball players,” Archer Jones said.

“The best thing for me is to see the looks on their faces,” said Trinity senior Tanner Jacobs, a member of the basketball team.

Towards the end of the camp, the AAAA Shootin’ for the Stars team faced members of Trinity, Sacred Heart and St. Xavier teams.

In what seemed to be a very one-sided match, the Stars team defeated THS, SHA and St. X 38-12.

Afterwards, everyone sat down to cap off the day with pizza and refreshments.

“This is awesome that teenagers are doing this, because its very important to them,” said Marcia Meisner, a mother of a member of the Shootin’ for the Stars team.
