The freshman girls’ basketball team added two more wins to their flawless record Wednesday, Dec. 8 against Wheeling Park and Monday, Dec. 20 versus Marietta.

The girls made the long bus trip up to Wheeling and started off quick by dominating the first quarter, which set the tone for the rest of the game. “The fact that we are not only teammates, but friends, too, helps us win,” freshman Kayleigh Rexroad said. Rexroad contributed with 13 points.

The team may be dominating lately, but there are still at least 10 more games left in the season. “We have a lot of stuff to work on as a team, but we will be fine,” freshman Kasey Williams said.

These wins help the team show their place in the the league. “We have really come together as a team, and I think we have the stuff to win it all,” Rexroad said. The freshman team has a league tournament after the season

The girls also beat Marietta, 70-36. They improved their record to 6-0 in the regular season.

Their next game is in the Roy McCase Gym on Wednesday, Dec. 22 against Parkersburg. Tip-off is at 6:00 p.m.
