Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Over recent years the powerful social network, MySpace, has begun to lose its touch. Many people wonder how something that was a must have only a couple of years ago could be spiraling down so dramatically. Facebook has played a major role in the downfall of MySpace.
It seems that more and more people every day are ditching their MySpace accounts and setting up Facebook pages. Facebook has about 400 million users, while MySpace only has about 100 million, according to www.web-strategist.com.
One reason for this is that users can understand and navigate Facebook more easily than MySpace. Parents and even grandparents are creating Facebook accounts because they feel like they can be a part of the social loop and find old friends or classmates, which is harder to do on MySpace.
MySpace has not been quick to respond to user requests. Only recently have they added the status update feature that Facebook has been using for a long time.
Even though Facebook was meant for just college students at first, it now seems that almost everyone has an account, ranging from kids to adults. MySpace is just not the “cool” thing to use, and Facebook is now the primary social network for most internet junkies.
