Continental Clarion: What do you like most about being on the wresting team?
Sophomore Bryce Gainer: Getting to travel places with the team.
Clarion: What are your expectations for the team this year?
Gainer: We should win State this year.
Clarion: Who is your favorite team to wrestle?
Gainer: I like to wrestle PHS because there is always a big crowd to come and watch.
Clarion: Do you have any personal goals for the season?
Gainer: One of my goals for the season is to place at States.
Clarion: How is wrestling in high school different than wrestling in middle school?
Gainer: High school is a lot harder than middle school.
Clarion: What’s your favorite thing about wrestling for South?
Gainer: Everyone knows South wrestlers are good, and it’s cool to be a part of it.
Clarion: Do you ever get nervous before a match, and if so, what do you do to relax?
Gainer: Yes, and to relax I just keep telling myself, “I can do it.”
Clarion: What got you interested in wrestling?
Gainer: I got a paper in first grade about wrestling, and I’ve loved it ever since.
Clarion: Do you plan on wrestling in college?
Gainer: I do plan to get a scholarship for wrestling, but I don’t know where I want to go yet.
Clarion: What does a typical practice involve?
Gainer: Sweat, lots of drilling and running and live wrestling.
