Clarion: What is Raze?
Raze President senior Asia Greenleaf: Raze is a statewide group that talks to kids about the danger of using tobacco. We inform them of how pointless and harmful it is.
Clarion: What do you plan to do this year?
Greenleaf: We’re going to Mineral Wells Elementary for Red Ribbon Week. We have to go talk to the health classes. We may do Relay For Life or Relay High later in the year. We also have the Regional Raze On in November.
Clarion: Who can be involved in Raze?
Greenleaf: Anyone can be involved. It’s really easy. Just come join, as long as you stay involved and show up.
Clarion: What got you involved?
Greenleaf: At Edison, the student council did Raze. I was in student council, so I did Raze.
Clarion: Why should someone become a part of Raze?
Greenleaf: It’s good to teach little kids about smoking or rubbing so they will hopefully never start. It’s also another service to put on your college applications.
Clarion: How can people become involved in Raze?
Greenleaf: Just come to a meeting.
Clarion: When are the meetings, and where?
Greenleaf: The meetings vary. They’re always in Mr. Pahl’s room (2124). If teachers read or post the bulletins, you can see the meeting times there.
Clarion: What has Raze done in the past?
Greenleaf: We’ve gone to elementary schools. We’ve talked at sporting events. Last year, we went to a WVU game with other local Raze groups to do Raze commissions in the Fan Center.
