Freshmen Parker Slagh and Grant Fortenbacher -

Freshmen Grant Fortenbacher and Parker Slagh have been best friends since they were 7 and met in first grade.

“Since 7, I knew Parker and I were friends,” Fortenbacher said. “We then became best friends because we had a class together and joined the same soccer team.”

Fortenbacher and Slagh are in many ways alike and have many of the same interests.

“One of the reason why we are so close is because we both really enjoy boating and tubing and have a lot of the same friends,” Slagh said. “Our greatest interest is snowboarding. We go together all the time.”

Even though Fortenbacher and Slagh are best friends, they still get into arguments.

“We get into our fights about little things because we have known each other for a long time,” Slagh said. “But every time we get into a fight, we find a solutions and still have each other’s backs.”

In order to have a best friend, you have to know that they will always have your back and be able to trust one another.

Fortenbacher said, “Parker is nice, trustworthy, and honest, and that’s why I consider him one of my best friends.”

Because Fortenbacher and Slagh have been best friends, their parents have met though each other and also became good friends as well.

“Parker would always get dropped off at my house, and our parents would talk,” Fortenbacher said. “They also would talk a lot at our soccer games which led them to becoming friends as well.”

To Slagh, Fortenbacher is not just a best friend but more like a brother to him.
“Grant is my best friend and always will be,” Slagh said. “Even if we are not that close in the future, we will both always know we will have each other’s
