Shores Guided Academic classes traveled to Grand Valley State University to explore a positive future.
On Oct. 11, Guided Academic students (students who have received an F in at least one class) and their peer tutors took a tour of the campus and climbed a rock wall.
The goal of this field trip was to motivate students to work for a positive future; students were also presented with the idea of maintaining perseverance and overcoming obstacles.
Peer Tutor senior Lauren Smith said, "The rock climbing wall showed students that although tasks can look unbearable at times with a little perseverance and determination any goal can be met."
