Ways of entertaining people have evolved over the years.
Books are part of people’s lives to further their intelligence as well as to offer them entertainment. Movies do somewhat of the same thing but they take less effort on the audiences’ part. Also, a pro for some is that it occupies less of the audience’s time.
“I prefer movies because they do not require me to work at all,” senior Alex Gonzalez said.
Directors have turned books into movies that the public anticipates, so they can enjoy the magic of books without having to read them.
Bringing people’s imagination to life on a screen is becoming more exciting than ever.
Twilight and Harry Potter are popular series that have been made into large budget motion pictures.
Fans of the movies do not plan on reading the books because they do not want to ruin the quality of the movies, because in most instances the books trump the movies.
People do not usually read anymore because the fact that every interesting book is turning into a movie.
Book fans, often hate the movie compared to the book, because of the lack of details the movie includes because it is impossible to fit all the details of a 500 page book in a two hour time slot.
A book is as long as it needs to be in order to tell the story, unfortunately a movie only has an average of two hours.
“Movies do not portray all the details within the book. They miss certain scenes and do not depict all the emotions and feelings that books describe,”senior Alexa Bowser said.
With a book the reader has creative freedom and gets to imagine what they want to picture.
“I believe reading improves your creativity more than movies do,” junior Abdel Elbakkali said.
