After 10 years of recording and producing music the newly revived Maroon 5 released an album fans have craved since their prior success with the record breaking Hands All Over.
The latest contribution to their long list of accolades is their latest album Overexposed. It contains the already famous single 'Payphone' and the soon-to-be chart topper 'One More Night'.
The collaboration between Maroon 5 and the unexpected rapper Wiz Khalifa proved to be the perfect equation to create a record-breaking single known as 'Payphone'. This single sold 493,000 digital downloads within the first week of its release making it #3 on the Hot 100 according to idolator.com.
To quench the thirst of fans wanting more songs from their revered Maroon 5, the song 'One More Night' was released June 19, a week before the rest of the album was set to debut. This faux reggae melody contains catchy, high-pitched melodies that are sure to promise records and a crazed fan-base.
Junior Kaitlin Horsey said, “I love this song! The catchy beat and lyrics that tell a story are my favorite,” about the new single.
Now that the band has been revived and made themselves a household name, fans can expect a tour in the United States after they finish visiting cities all over the world.
Although the new album is projected to top charts and break records, many fans from over their decade of fame are disappointed with the transformation into more of a pop sound. Even with the transformation over the years, Maroon 5 has even increased their listening audience with the wide spectrum their music falls under.
Overexposed is a combination of the new “mainstream” music that will fill everyone’s radio in a matter of weeks and the “off-the-beaten-path” tunes to cater to fans there from the beginning. Some predicted favorites are 'The Man Who Never Lied', 'Beautiful Goodbye', and 'Lucky Strike'.
With hits like this on the horizon, it’s safe to say Maroon 5 will not be leaving the music scene any time soon.
