New Spider-Man movie proves to be truly amazing

The Amazing Spider-Man hit theaters Tuesday, July 3, and brought with it a surge that will ignite Spider-Man fans, new and old alike.
The world has already seen three installments of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, featuring Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, and now it receives a new and improved variation. Spider-Man, originally a Marvel comic book hero, has been featured in many different tellings of his own story.
The Amazing Spider-Man  is based off of a different set of comics than the 2002 movie’s hero, marking the new installment as completely fresh versus a remake. In the tale, Peter Parker discovers that his father, Richard Parker, who left him with his aunt and uncle when he was young, worked with well-known Dr. Curt Connors on alternating DNA.  Richard and Dr. Connors were attempting to adapt human DNA, hoping to give people the capability of regenerating their own limbs. Parker then goes on a mission to find Dr. Connors, which leads him into the spider lair, leaving him with a bite from a radioactive spider.
The bite gained him spider-like qualities, such as the ability to scale walls, which made Parker feel obligated to build his own web-shooters and sew himself a fully-masked suit.
After the press pegs him as “Spider-Man,” he accepts the name, and the role of saving New York from a mutated lizard, with dignity. The movie features lanky Andrew Garfield as Parker and Emma Stone as his love interest, Gwen Stacy. Other stars include Rhys Ifans as the lizard-clad villain Dr. Connors, Denis Leary as Captain Stacy, Gwen’s father and the main man interested in Spider-Man’s arrest, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben, and Sally Field as Aunt May.
Though the plot may sometimes run similar to Maguire’s Spider-Man, the story is fresh: Parker’s love interest, his spider-bite given abilities, and the villain have changed. The stellar special effects, amped by Real-3D features, bring new life and new ability to Spider-Man. The casting is stellar for the film. Garfield’s awkwardness and humor add depth to Parker’s character, and his relationship with Stacy feels realistic thanks to Stone’s acting ability. The duo both portray their characters’ ages flawlessly. The movie strikes every emotional chord, bringing its audience fits of laughter and drawing countless tears.
With the aid of new technological developments, the movie’s special effects seem light-years ahead of the 2002 installment’s effects. Spider-Man is able to fly much more seamlessly about New York City, and the mutant lizard villain appears much more realistic.
Fans of the original Spider-Man installment will not be disappointed in the film, and new fans will flock to the movie in droves, ready to get a taste of The Amazing Spider-Man.
