Research has shown that laughter can benefit health, by relieving  pain, bringing  more happiness, reducing stress and increasing immunity.
The idea to study positive emotions, such as laughter came about after studies had shown that mental stress caused blood vessels to constrict", says Dr. Michael Miller, Professor of Medicine and lead investigator.
“The magnitude of change we saw in blood pressure after laughing was consistent and similar to the benefit we might see with aerobic exercise or statin use,” Dr. Miller said in the release, explaining that a hardy laugh could be part of an overall healthy lifestyle.
The average American laughs 15 times per day, but during the school year it drops to five.                        Also,  laughter burns calories. Laughing out loud at a comedy  burns 20% more calories and increased heart rate compared to watching a run of the mill documentary, according to University of Maryland students.                                                                                                                                                                                                     “Once I had to go in the hallway for laughing at something I was reading in class, I did not know we were not allowed to be laugh,” WHO SAID THIS??
Being able to laugh at mistakes can make help people recognize that when mistakes happen they are not the end of the world. Seeing the lighter side of life really helps put things into perspective. Life cannot be all bad if there is still something to laugh about.

Pulled quote: “Once I had to go in the hallway for laughing at something I was reading, I did not no we were not allowed to be happy,” says anonymous source.
