Wednesday, January 04, 2012 By JULZ HARVEY Entertainment Editor - Advertising Preparation for competition season begins for Dance Team     The Dance Team has not performed in the last month, but they have still been hard at work.     “We’ve been learning and working on our competition dance,” according to sophomore Mackenzie Lewandowski, “we’re getting ready for the competition season.     The team has also been taking technique classes working on jumps and turns, and preparing for the basketball season, according to sophomore Cassidy Miller.     Lewandowski says she is “confident” about the competition season, saying she is “really excited and I really like our dance. I think we can place high.”     “The choreography is really good, and once that gets clean, it will be really awesome,” said Miller. “I think they will do really well.”     The choreography was done by former North Harford Dance Team member Alyssa Santoni, according to Miller.     The team has an upcoming Christmas party, for team bonding.     “We do a Secret Santa and play games to bond,” said Lewandowski.     The team will be performing at some boys basketball games, and their first competition is the Maryland Cup Competition in Upper Marlboro, on January 29.
