The Notebook, Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember; these are just a few stories by international, best-selling author Nicholas Sparks.
Sparks’ first novel, The Passing, was his first story, although it was never published. Sparks continued to keep writing, and now has published 16 novels; seven out of the 16 are now movies. In the past few years, Sparks’ novels and movies have become outrageously popular throughout the world.
Sparks has been rapidly putting out his works in the past year. His novel, The Vow, has just been made into a movie and will be released on February 10 as a movie. This movie will star Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum, who have acted in previous movies based on Sparks’ novels.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Nicholas Sparks has sold The Watchers, an original drama concept, to the network [ABC].”
The most familiar work of Sparks is his story, The Notebook, which is about an elderly man who reads the story of a young couple from World War II to a woman around the same age as he. Sparks’ increasing popularity has made him very well known.
“I think he’s gotten so popular because of the movie The Notebook,” sophomore Shelby Pope said. “Everyone seems to love that movie so people want to make more movies out of his books.”
“I think he’s gotten very popular because he writes what girls wish guys were like,” Cywinski said.
Cywinski really enjoys Sparks’ books.
“I’ve read five of his books, and my favorite book would probably be The Choice.”
The Vow is sparking a lot of excitement for the month of February.
“The Vow is coming out around Valentine’s Day, which is perfect because it’s a romance movie,” Pope said.
“I can’t wait,” Cywinski explained. “Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum have been in Nicholas Sparks’ movies before, and they’re really good at acting.”
As a number 1 New York Times Best-selling author, Sparks continues to spark the hearts the drama-loving readers of the world.
