Howdy my fellow readers! How has summer been treating you? I hope you are enjoying your well-deserve break.
Anyways, it has been a very long time that I haven’t written a blog or story. Now here I am!
There isn’t anything special to talk about right now in my life, but there is something to talk about every day in the fab-lane. (I mean Hollywood gossip and world news.)
Here are my 5 top stories of the summer so far.
1. 1.) Presidential elections for Mexico
As you may have figured it out, I am a proud Hispanic. I also live in a border town next to Mexico. My family and I also keep on with the news going on in our neighbor country. All I kept seeing is the ads of the candidates that are running for president of Mexico. Everyone in Mexico and some people in the U.S. are so interesting on what is going to happen. I am also wondering who is going to be the next president. Is she/he going to make everything better? Well, we will see.
2. 2.) The SB 1070 Immigration law of Arizona
Arizona decided to pass a law that gives permission to any police officer in that state to stop a person if the officer thinks he/she is an illegal immigrant. This law has been a controversial topic all through spring and summer. This ruling from the Supreme Court of the U.S. has been called the law that “discriminates against Latinos.” This law won’t be in affected this year, but a lot of people are still fighting to put an end to it. I personally don’t approve most of the components that makes this law.
3. 3.) Jerry Sandusky, Penn State controversy
Jerry Sandusky, football coach charged and has been found guilty for inapproriate behavior with underage children (Google this case for more information please). This case changed a grand university in a blink of a second. Their hero-coach is now labeled as a monster. This case really kept the whole nation stuck on their televisions. I was so surprise when he got charged but then started to believe this man deserves jail time. Now he is going to deserve about more than 100 years in prison.
4. 4.) “Magic Mike” movie
Okay, I think most of you girls know what I am talking about. The movie “Magic Mike” is not another Michael Jordan movie or “Like Mike”. It isn’t a basketball movie, no sir. Channing Tatum starts in this movie as a guy who works at a club dancing for women; I think you get the picture right? Anyways, this movie is all my friends could talk about and the country too! I, personally, am not a big fan of Tatum or this kind of movies. It does look funny and have some sort of message of love but no thank you.
5. 5.) Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are O-V-E-R!
Okay, finally, my final story is Tom-Kat call it quits after 5 years of marriage. This really surprised me. I never thought this Hollywood couple will make it to Split Ville. They seem so happy with their pretty daughter Suri. But I guess we all ignore the signs: not been seen together for a while, and different personalities. Who would imagine this though? Tom and Katie had a beautiful wedding and Tom even jumped on Oprah’s couch to express how much he loved Katie! Oh well, I guess they are very good actors that they fooled us all.
Well, there you have it guys! Hope you liked and keep on reading the Magnet Tribune. Thanks. =)
