It seems that just about everywhere people have someone else on their mind. Its almost like were all caught in the middle of a Lifetime movie. High schoolers, ecspecially, s[end more time focusing on the actions of others than they do on their own. Is it subconscious or unintentional to have their mind absorbed into someone else’s business? Do they feel a sense of superiority by knowing about something important and sharing it with anyone who is willing to be a listener? Why do we find gossip so interesting? Too many people enjoy it, without realizing that by helping share the information, they are putting themselves in the continuous cycle to be spoken of as well.

We all have the common goal of trying to figure ourselves and our lives out. People have a nasty habit of taking their lives too seriously. Focusing so much on other peoples lives temporarily blindsides them from the truth that were all living our own lives. Guaranteed that if everyone saw each other as merely human, with as many of the same imperfections as themselves, then this world would be a much more understanding place.

Could it be that because we all make mistakes and we want to be accepted, we bring other peoples mistakes into the light, so that we may keep ours in the shadows? Some people may argue that there is not a deeper meaning to gossiping, that it is just human nature. Or possibly, a gossip fiend does not know what else to think about? It could simply be the most important thing for their mind to analyze. Their mind may be conditioned to find that information as the most interesting thing to be thought about. If it works for them, then it works for them. The answers and reasoning of it all lie within the thought process of the majority of people everywhere, which is something that we may never know.

The biggest thing to bring into consideration, is that no matter what is said, your high school will forget all about it as life goes on. It only matters because it is the only thing taking inventory of your life right now. Fifteen years from now, when you are surrounded by a completely different group of people and high school is a faint memory, the people you once knew will only remember who you were and how you affected their life. The small nonsense will be forgotten and gone. Does that make anyone wonder why it is so important? How would it feel to know that your words may mean nothing in a matter of time? That is exactly why it is important to base thoughts around understanding yourself and being the person you truly want to be. It is wise to say what you mean, and mean what you say, and to think about it before it is said. Life is whatever you want to make of it. How do you want to be remembered? In the bigger picture, disrespecting another person by spreading their business around is tainting your image. Being humble and accepting of other people is the key to genuinely enjoying precious time and allowing people to know the person they have always wanted to know.
