Remember the puffy jacket that mom dressed you in so you wouldn’t catch a cold? Or what about the Uggs that couldn’t cooperate with New York City slush?
Well, wipe the leftovers from last year’s blizzard off of your boots and stuff the “mom-made-me-wear-it” jacket in the back of your closet because after reading these winter fashion tips, you will look and stay warm and wonderful.
A lot of people during the colder seasons are more concerned with staying warm than looking cute. But who says you can’t do both?
Junior Iasia Dotton said, “It is possible to stay warm and fashionable. I like jackets because there are different syles and they don’t have to match completely with your outfit underneath.”
Some of the best stores for nice jackets are Burlington Coat Factory and Charlotte Russe. Whether you are leaning towards a Rihanna leather jacket, a Blake Lively peacoat, or a Lea Michele cape coat, you are bound to find the perfect outerwear at one of these stores.
Burlington Coat Factory prices range from $20 to $80 and Charlotte Russe ranges from $30 to $50.
A shirt shouldn’t be so hard to find, or so you think. It’s not about picking up what you first see; you need to make sure that the shirt you want to buy has good quality.
Horizontal-striped long-sleeves and v-neck long-sleeves are perfect when layering it with a knitted sweater. All of these items are best to buy at Old Navy and Daffy’s.
Old Navy and Daffy’s shirts range from $10 to $25. The sweaters at both stores range from $15 to $30.
Jeans are just a no-effort style. For the winter it is better to wear dark blue, black or olive green jeans.Forever 21, American Eagle and Areopostale are top stores to buy jeans that have good quality and reasonable prices.
Forever 21 jeans start at about $10 to $20, but American Eagle is a little pricier, starting at $30; but it is good quality. Aeropostale jeans range from $13 to $25.
Okay, so the Uggs are cute, but they are kind of two years ago. This winter try black or gray wedges. Knee-high boots and combat boots are also the basic shoe essentials for the cold weather.
Rainbow, Payless, David Z, DSW and Aldo are the stores with a great variety and reasonable prices. All of these stores combined range from $20 to $100.
Now, the basic accessories for winter fashion are the scarves, gloves, earmuffs and hats.
Junior Iasia Dotton says “Hats and earmuffs will be my favorite accessory for the winter season. There are so many different types of hats and earmuffs to wear and they are so stylish”.
The famous Forever 21 has a huge collection of hats, ranging from Khloe Kardashian floppy hats to the varsity theme.
The hats range from $1.99 to $20. They have the scarves and gloves to mix or match with your hat. Prices start at $2.50 and continue to $20.
You are not too old to shop at Claire’s. Claire’s has cute scarves, earmuffs and gloves with your favorite animal prints or colors. The prices at Claire’s for these winter accessories range from $4 to $26.
Now with these fashion ideas you will know how to stay cozy and chic for the winter season.
