If Christmas has to be white, then it could be fun to spend time in places you have not visited or seeing movies that you haven’t watched.
In Manhattan, there can be a lot of places to visit, for example Rockefeller Center, The Empire State Building, the New York Sky Ride (4 W 33rd St.) and Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. These places can be good to go with the family or with a special friend.
At the same time we have Broadway shows like " Mamma Mia," The Color Purple," "Wicked" and more. There are good movies that can be watched with the family or in theaters, such as "Mega Mind" (PG), "Grown Ups" (PG-13), "Ocean" (G), "Saw 3D"(R), and "Due Date"(R). For Harry Potter fans, there is a new movie that is just came out, "Harry Potter-Deathly Hallow: Trailer 2" (PG-13).
Where do SJHS students like to go for Christmas? Well, that is a good question. Junior Gabrielle Barkley said, "I like to go to Time Square, Rockefeller Center to ice skate, Central Park and Radio City." She likes to go to Central Park because it is a nice place to walk around and also is a big park where you can do exercise.
There are many students who like to travel outside the city, like freshmen Inphiniti Keyes-Walker. "I like to go outside of New York, like to Pennsylvania, because I have a house where I can stay and also I like to go with my family to a country restaurant that is around my house," she said. She also likes to go eat with her family in Queens; the restaurant that she goes with her family is called Green Field Churrascaria.
Also, some restaurants can be affordable at this time. For example, there are a lot of restaurants visited by families in this time of sharing.
Senior Alyssa Cepeda said ice skating could be fun if you go with a group of friends. "I think the cheapest place to have a great experience this Christmas is Bryant Park (West 40th St.)," she said. It’s free admission to skate but to rent skates is only about $13 or less."
