Ms. Conboy, the new religion and government teacher, is certainly a very busy and dedicated woman. Even while juggling teaching 12th grade economics and government, 9th and 11th grade religion, being a mother of twins and a loving wife, she still finds the time to do kickboxing every weeknight.

She has been teaching for 28 years, most recently at Stella Maris, an all-girls high school run by the Sisters of St. Joseph. She was teaching there for 20 years, but sadly the school closed last spring.

With her experience of teaching in an all-girls Catholic school, she finds teaching very valuable and does not see any reason not to return here next year. "I’ve enjoyed it [SJHS] and do not see any reason not to return next year," Ms. Conboy said.

She may consider teaching kickboxing here at St. Joseph’s. She stated, "Perhaps, yes I wouldn’t mind sharing my kickboxing skills of 11 years with everyone if it can fit into everyone’s schedule."

Ms. Conboy is a married woman and has two 13 year old identical twin daughters who are avid sports enthusiasts. Religion Department chairperson Mrs. Baylock finds Ms.Conboy to be very devoted and appreciates her here being with us. "Since we both teach juniors, we often share ideas and teaching tips that we have found work well in the classroom," Mrs. Baylock said. "I appreciate her fresh perspective and down to earth sense of humor. We are fortunate to have her with us at St. Joseph."

Mrs. Christy, from our guidance department, also spoke highly of Ms. Conboy’s presence. "She brings energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to the CSJ mission, developed during her years at Stella Maris," said Mrs. Christy. "She has been very generous in sharing her ideas and experience with us. It is also a great pleasure to have another Mets fan at St. Joseph’s!"

Ms. Conboy shared a very inspirational quote for our young women in St. Joseph. "Live everyday like it is your last day on earth," Ms. Conboy said.

I love Miss Conboy. She's always smiling and happy. Whenever i see her i always smile back and say good morning or just a nice hello. truthfully, i;m very surprised to know that she does kickboxing. I was always into martial arts, but i never had the time to do it. If Miss Conboy actually does teach kickboxing, i will definitely be one of the first to sign up for it.

I enjoyed this article because I love Ms. Conboy. She's my religion teacher, and I would be very happy if she returned to teach in SJHS next year. She is such a nice and down-to-earth woman. She is a true fan of female empowerment. I recognized and grew to admired her strength when she told my class that she's not going to change her title from being Ms. Conboy to Mrs. (her husband's last name), because of marriage. That changed my perspective on how strong a woman should be, and how weak some of us are. What she said that day will stick with me for a long time.
