(Sept. 29, 2010) -- David Black has returned to Clark as an authority figure, going from student to teacher.  He teaches engineering in addition to the computer hardware and history portion of technology literature for the freshmen. According to Black, being an instructor is nothing new, as he has been working with students since he was one himself in middle school. He mentored workshops at West Covina High School as well as Clark. On top of that, the robotics team at Clark has been dependent on him for the past nine years, and he is still its advisor. “It’s okay to lose [during competitions],” he says, “so long as you learn something.”

Black says he has a whole new respect for the job and being a teacher. “It’s a little weird being on the other side of the desk,” he said.
