Before heading home for the holidays, a select group of students from Matt Stroup’s Cinematography class will get a private tour of the ABC Studios in Burbank tomorrow.  The nine students were chosen for expressing interest in broadcast journalism and/or editing and for maintaining A's in the class.  Art director Minny Amit, an acquaintance of teacher Randall Tiffany, will serve as their tour guide, introducing students to editors and maybe even the manger of the studios.  Stroup hopes the students will gain insight into the industry and understand what goes on behind the scenes in a major studio.  Last year, graduate Joy Kim was offered an internship during the tour, and she is currently working as a production assistant for KTLA.

Tomorrow, the 22 students enrolled in teacher Virginia Benzer’s AP biology class will go to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.  Before they tour the aquarium, students will work alongside the aquarium’s staff to complete one of the 15 required labs for the course.  Instead of stimulating the experiment in class, students will actually test the oxygen levels in the bay and then study how oxygen levels have influenced the various ecosystems.
