Recently BHS senior and Honorable Mention District 55-4A midfielder selectee Emily Maxwell-Kemp signed to play soccer for the Park University Pirates in Parkville, Missouri.  Kemp will be a second generation Pirate, as her father played sports for the Pirates.

“I’m very excited that Emily gets the opportunity to go play for the school I graduated from,” Sean Kemp said. “The decision was all hers and made me proud as a dad that she chose to go where I went.”

Kemp has been playing soccer since she was four year old and considered running track in college, but settled on soccer.  She will also be pursuing an athletic training degree in college.

“I’ve always want to do something with sports when I grew up and being an athletic trainer caught my interest from the beginning of high school,” Kemp said. “I can’t wait to start school in the fall and learn more about it.”

While playing soccer, Emily will be taking classes to pursue her career of becoming an athletic trainer. “I'm excited to be going to the school my dad graduated from.” Kemp said. “He talks about how fun it was and all the great experiences he had and I can’t wait to experience college for myself.”
