CMC helps students master work comfortably

“It’s to help kids that need a little extra help or time in a quiet place to test or study,” CMC teacher Maria Bustillos said.

CMC, or Content Mastery Class, is a place where students can go that need some place quiet where they can concentrate on their tests or work that they are behind in. It allows students who can’t seem to finish on the deadline some extra working time and a good atmosphere to do it in.

CMC can be very beneficial to a student, or it could be a waste of time. The total benefit received by the student “…depends on the student. If he wants to come in here to mess around, he won’t benefit. If he comes in here to work, he can receive the full benefit of CMC,” Bustillos said.

When you miss a day and there is no way you can make up for it in class, it is up to the teacher to decide if you need to go to CMC or not. Without any distractions, it can be much easier to complete assignments. Senior Erin Briley said, “I love it. It’s quiet and easy to get work done.”
