James Bond, senioritis, a rain forest, and a circus tent... What do all these have in common? They are the themes representing each class in this year’s Runaway spirit week, “Under the . . . .” with freshmen as “Under the Big Top”, sophomores as “Under the Tree Top”, juniors as “Under the Radar” and seniors as “Under the Weather.”

In contrast to Homecoming, Rocklin High School’s Runaway is at the beginning of the new semester in order to keep students motivated after the two week break. Instead of decorating Homecoming floats, students decorate shopping carts, and instead of nominating students for Royal Court, the students nominate their teachers for the Common Court.

However, like Homecoming, students have dress up days, a rally, and a dance to look forward to. PJ day starts off the week, followed by Wednesday’s pirate day, Thursday’s holiday, and Friday’s spirit day. In addition, Tuesday through Thursday, 3 on 3 basketball will be held in the gym during plus and lunch and Delta Squad will perform during the rally.

To conclude the week, the Runaway dance will be held Friday (January 20) at 8:00 pm.
