Two teams played as if there was no tomorrow to gain the title and move on into the second round of Nor Cal’s. As time was running out, both our Rocklin and the Menlo-Atherton players were shooting with every chance to bump the scoreboard up.

This intense game had the crowd wild throughout the entire game, “standing” on the edge of their seats. Our famous rowdy routers rallied our boys on and encouraged the rest to do the same.

Rocklin’s fierce opponent, the Menlo-Atherton bears, continued to score three pointers one after another. With the fear of losing at our own home game, our Rocklin Basketball Team began to transform into an aggressive defensive front.

During third quarter, Rocklin was down by 2, however through our great steal, and pass down the court we were able to tie. Brendan Lane made the connection with the pass by making a super slam dunk, leading us into the fourth quarter 53-53.

Throughout the last three minutes of the game, Rocklin dominated the Bears, by displaying their tough defense and making plays down the court. Our determination to defeat was obviously seen as our Rocklin team played harder than ever.

Our victory has moved us into the second round of Nor Cal’s division championships, which makes for another exciting home game March 6.

“It was great being apart the winning team,” said junior Jared Yoheim.
