As a twist off of the classic tale, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the new movie release Sydney White puts a modern spin on a classic fairy tale.

As Sydney (Amanda Bynes) goes off to her late mother’s college, she tries the best she can to get into the famed sorority that her mother was in, Kappa Phi Nu. But there’s just one problem, with the name of Rachel Witchburn (Sara Paxton), who just happens to be Kappa Phi Nu President and the campus witch, but ruler none the less.

Rachel immediately rejects Sydney because of her natural humor and charm and puts her through everything she can to get her out of pledging the sorority, even though Sydney thinks that being accepted is her dream.

But eventually, Sydney stumbles upon people a little more like herself: complete dorks.

Through their perspective, Sydney realizes that she must do something to get the power out of Rachel’s grasp and back into that of the student body. And then starts the campaigning for president.

This empowering movie about finding true self and doing the impossible is an interesting grasp on reality that connects to more than just four year olds with a teething problem and lack of imagination to boot.

And don’t forget the hint of romance! As the obvious Prince Charming, Tyler Prince (Matt Long) falls helplessly in love with Sydney, and she falls right back. But who wouldn’t? A boy who feeds the homeless, serenades you, and is undeniably adorable has to have some strong effects.

The acclaimed “dorks” are oddly enough charming and perfect for their roles, especially Jack Carpenter who plays the allergy-prone Lenny, and Arnie Pantoja as the little man who ‘just wants to be a tiger-scout.’

The newly-released movie Sydney White can definitely be acclaimed as ‘bewitching’ and is strongly recommended to audiences everywhere who just want a clear cut moral and a good laugh!
