Need something to do over winter break... here are some ideas to help pass the time outside of school...

1. Go out to lunch with friends and be obnoxious. Start random conversations with the busboy.

2. Play Truth or Dare Jenga.

3. Pretend like you're a little kid again and play hopscotch, even if it’s raining.

4. Draw a mural on your driveway with sidewalk chalk.

5. Perhaps, maybe, possibly actually do your homework. Or not.

6. Sleep…A lot.

7. Do your parents a favor and rake up the leaves in your front yard. Build a snowman out of them since it’s Rocklin and there’s no snow.

8. Research the origins of the holiday you celebrate.

9. Fold up a piece of paper and cut out a snowflake pattern. Decorate your room with a few of them for a festive mood.

10. Take random pictures and make a photo album titled “Winter Break 2006.”

11. Have friends over and play a game of Hide and Seek. Try to be as loud as you possibly can while counting and seeking.

12. Make presents out of Play Doh. Let them dry and give them to people you know.

13. Bake cookies and give them to someone as a gift. Or just eat them all yourself. After all, it is the holiday season and it's pretty much a requirement to stuff your face with sweets.

14. Eat enormous amounts of tasty food (see # 13 above).

15. See how long you can go without logging in to Myspace.

16. Forget about I-M’ing people – write them a letter and mail it the old-fashioned way.

17. Go for a walk at night. It’s cold, but it’s exhilarating (I promise).

18. Drop ice cubes down the back of your shirt and pretend you're in the snow.

19. Go to the mall just to experience the holiday shopping frenzy. Just try not to get killed in the madness. We want to see you all back at school come January.

20. Buy a few goldfish to keep you occupied, even if it's only for about 5 minutes. Although, if you have a cat, you might want to be aware that cats tend to be a little too fascinated with fish.

21. Make a countdown of days until you go back to school. Throw it away immediately upon completion.

22. Surprise everyone and clean your room. Yes, without being asked 157 times (Like anyone is actually keeping count...)

23. Did I mention sleeping a lot??

24. Go snowboarding and try not to hurt yourself too badly (unless you're really good at flying down mountains at high speeds attached to a board, then you have nothing to worry about).

25. Celebrate New Year's Eve on east coast time and run outside at 9 pm screaming "Happy New Year!!" with noisemakers, fireworks, and streamers.

26. See how many layers of clothing you can wear while still retaining full mobility. Personally, my record is 5 so far (not including a scarf).

27. HAVE A GREAT BREAK!!
