A native of Lawrenceville, Va., English teacher Gale Morris attended St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville.
Morris previously taught at a private school until it closed, then volunteered at a daycare before coming to Northern.
Morris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Political Science from St. Paul’s.
She credits her desire to teach to her love of children.
Engaged to Adam Henderson, Morris plans a Sept. 1 wedding. Her family lives in the Richmond area.
Morris’s favorite quote, ‘Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding,’ is found in Proverbs 3:5 in the Holy Bible.
After a job of delivering perscription drugs for ove a year for Mast Pharmacy, Roy Ballard was offered a teaching position at Northern.
A native of Bethel, N.C., Ballard graduated from North Pitt High School were he was a member of the Spanish Club, Biology Club and National Honor Society.
He is a graduate of East Carolina University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English with a concentration in literature.
"As an Engilsh teacher, my goal is to get my seniors graduated," Ballard said.
