At-a-glance

Cumberland Perry Area Vocational Technical School or CPAVTS, commonly known to many as Vo-tech, is considering a name change.  Students from school districts within Cumberland and Perry County attend the school, including Camp Hill, Carlisle, Cedar Cliff, Red Land, Cumberland Valley, East Pennsboro, Greenwood, Mechanicsburg, Newport, Northern York, South Middleton (Boiling Springs), Susquenita, Upper Adams, West Perry, and Big Spring.  According to Guidance Secretary Trish Liddick, the school with the most students attending CPAVTS would most likely be Cumberland Valley.
On their website homepage, CPAVTS has a survey asking questions about support for a name change, possible school names, and the respondents relationship to the school.
Their first question is whether or not the person taking the survey supports a name change for the school.  Four possible names for the school are then provided. Cumberland Perry Career and Technology Center, Cumberland Perry Technical School, Cumberland Perry Career and Technical School, Cumberland Perry Career and Technical Center.
An "other" option allows for the person taking the survey to provide another possible name choice.  Finally, the survey asks for the participant's relationship to the school, such as parent of a student enrolled at CPAVTS, CPAVTS alumni, or current CPAVTS student.
Survey takers do not need to respond to the second question, but the first and third questions are required in order to submit the survey.
