The character Waldo of “Where’s Waldo?” books, has once again begun to appear on campus. The spray painted Waldos started to reappear in multiple locations two weeks ago.

The Waldos were previously on campus during the fall term and assistant principal Jon Coleman suspects that the culprit is probably the same person as last time. According to Coleman, the Waldos keep reappearing.

“We clean them but more just keep showing up,” said Coleman.

Site maintenance and an outside contractor have continuously removed the Waldos from campus. The clean-ups have cost about $325 and the money comes from the site maintenance budget.

Coleman thinks that the vandalism reflects the school in a negative way.

“First off, vandalism doesn’t look good and second, it makes us look stupid,” said Coleman. “If kids have that much free time then they should use their creativity in a more positive manner.”

Coleman is tired of finding the ‘Where’s Waldos’ around campus.

“I’m annoyed and I really want to catch the person who did it,” said Coleman

Freshman Ashley Little, however, finds the Waldos amusing.

“I love them, the person making them isn’t doing anything bad,” said Little.

If the vandal is caught, the consequences include suspension, restitution and arrest.

“There shouldn’t be any consequences because it’s not hurting anyone,” said Little.

Freshman Celine Nunally thinks that it is fun to have a scavenger hunt around campus and try to find all of the Waldos with her friends.

“I think that whoever did it should be rewarded because it’s super cool,” said Nunally.

However, other students have different views of the vandalism.

“I believe that it is a destruction of school property and it encourages vandalism,” said sophomore Chanisse Hendrix. “That’s obviously not a good thing for our campus.”
