Renovations on Roseville High School’s 200 wing has commenced and the building should be available to students at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year. The building will accommodate both fashion merchandising classes and culinary arts classes, and is undergoing reconstruction in order to provide the amenities needed for the classes.

In the new fashion classroom, there will be an additional equipment room and a computer lab area and everything in the room will be moveable.

Fashion teacher Tara Kringel was involved in designing and planning the classroom.

“It was a lot of fun putting my ideas and my conceptions in the constructions of the classroom,” said Kringel.

There will be three buildings in the new renovated 200 wing. According to assistant principal Coleman, the remodel will provide up-to-date facilities for the two programs.

“The constructed classrooms will provide a better working environment for these programs,” said Coleman.

During the renovations, the cooking class was moved to portable 38. According to culinary arts teacher Muriel Bergman, her class is very excited about the move to the new renovated building in the fall of this year.

“We are all looking forward to working on new state-of-the-art equipment,” said Bergman.

According to Bergman, the newly renovated 200 wing will make it much more relevant for the students to learn culinary arts because they will be working with equipment that is found in restaurants.

Coleman feels that the wing will be a great success.

“I think the building will be magnificent when it is done and after the construction,” said Coleman.
