Am I the only one who notices, or does everyone else just pretend not to see the disgusting objects stuck to the hallway ceilings? I don’t know how people can walk under them without observing this. As I pass from class to class, I am constantly frightened by the sight of gum, and some other weird and indescribable things. Truthfully, I am more scared of what is on the ceilings rather than what may be stuck to the ground.

The first time I realized what I was walking under was the third week of school. I overheard another student talking about how [their] freshman year they stuck cheese to the tops of the ceiling. Mind you, these students are seniors.

As I walked past that four year old cheese, I wondered, “What else is hanging from the top?”

This school is almost one hundred years old. A hundred years worth of cheese, gum and whatever else is still dangling from our school’s hallways. We are very historic.

Is this a matter that should be taken to the administration? I don’t know, but I at least want to open the students’ eyes about this issue.

It is not something I personally think the school should spend money on, but instead of hiring someone to clean it, we all could pitch in and figure something out.

I think our school should take more pride in the way we present ourselves to the rest of Roseville. We would not have the problem of trash and the ground and food on the ceiling if we could all just act responsible and our age. I know my parents taught me how to pick up my things.

This may not seem like a big deal to some, but for me and some others out there, this is not acceptable. It is unhealthy and unsanitary.
