What do teachers expect from students at Norte Vista High School in the 2010-2011 school year? What do they think about the new adjustments that have been made this new school year? Well The Arrow has the answers for both these questions. We interviewed a few teachers new to Norte Vista High School, after interviewing the new teachers we interviewed a few veteran teachers.

When asked what do you expect from students at Novi this new school year, new teachers and veteran teachers said all they want from the students is to succeed this year. Ms Segura who has been teaching here at Norte Vista for 8 years said she wants all the students here at Novi to, “Succeed always” and to “challenge themselves”. Approximately all the teachers who were interviwed said the same thing. Mrs. Sheffield a new teacher here at Norte Vista wants students to have the “hunger” to learn. The teachers here all new and old want every single student to be successful, graduate, and do the best they can academically.

The teachers then were asked what they thought about the new adjustments that have been made this new school year? The new teachers of course answered to the best of their knowledge, since they were not at Norte Vista last year and could not judge from how things were at the campus from last year to this year. But they all did say that the changes will actually be for the better. On the other hand Veteran teachers at Novi have seen how last year the school worked and the new adjustments this year. Ms Segura one of the veteran teachers, said that we should “embrace the changes because they are for the better”. However she does say that she misses the ten minute break we had so she can have a nutritious snack and to use the restroom but she says she is managing. Basically the teachers said the changes were done for the better and they were needed.

That was what some of our teachers here at Norte Vista High School thought of the adjustments and what they expected from students this new school year. Teachers also were asked how their students were managing these new adjustments and they all said they do hear some complaints here and there. Nonetheless they say students will end up processing these changes into their daily school routines. So teachers as well as students will adjust to their new rules at Novi. Teachers seem to be enthusiastic to see how their students do and to work with new colleagues.
